Prospectors flood Cariboo as Consolation mine yields boost
O B Williams and J W McCreary report from French Creek and Revelstoke that four men earned over 6000 dollars in gold this winter at the Consolation drift mine. A 600 foot drain and new delving have placed the operation in first class shape with a 25 foot pay streak and capacity for 30 to 40 men. Nearby Vandals claim a bonanza while others push bed rock. News of railway plans from Nakusp to Cariboo and a Cariboo branch sparks miners to move ahead this spring.
