Nakusp School Board Adopts New District Boundaries

The Public School Board discussed a government grant of 1000 for a Nakusp schoolhouse and set boundaries akin to lot 397, group 1. Citizens met at Mr Abriel’s office to decide on debt reduction, site use, and reserving the present building for public and church use with taxation of outsiders.

Nelson Convention Nominates Hume for Provincial Race

Delegates from the south riding met in Nelson to nominate a candidate against the Davie administration. On a 26 member roll call J Fred Hume won with 15 votes, R F Green 10, and John Houston 1. Hume’s nomination was ratified as opposition plans a firm campaign.

Kaslo Railway Deputation Succeeds in Victoria

Kaslo and Slocan Railway deputies return from Victoria pleased with Premier Davie and ministers. Government amendments to the act are satisfactory, construction to begin at once, and Kaslo’s burnt district will be rebuilt with finer structures replacing those lost to the recent fire.
