Chas Farrell intends to develop the Society Girl property this fall and winter and move to the mine on Monday to begin operations. He reports 800 to 400 tons of ore ready for shipment and seeks to market while prices and silver are favorable. The mine has good buildings and a large ore bin. years ago Farrell shipped over 920000 worth of ore from this property with a force of 30 miners.
The Co-Operative Store in Moyle reports satisfactory progress with all tasks moving toward readiness. Last Monday an election chose officers: President J L Gibbons tied with Al Brydle, Vice President Ed Barr, Secretary Jas Roberts, Treasurer John Blackburn, and Trustees John Taylor William Kidd B Brimson and Alex Cameron.

Conservative leader Sir Robert Borden and colleague J.G. Bergeron were greeted warmly in Cranbrook on October 1 as crowds pressed to the station. The pair spoke in the new opera house delivering measured, fact based rhetoric that drew long applause from locals.
Last week the Morning Snow storm and Hunter mines in Coeur dAlenes laid off about 150 miners. Smelters asked curtailment of shipments leaving about 20 men in the mine and 10 in the mill still operating.

J A Dewar of Porto Rico Lumber travels from Nelson to inspect interests. Moyie hotel cases involving allowing a game of Cambrian in guest access areas are appealed and upheld for lack of proof. Moves include arrivals from England and Burnley, visits by Phillipsburg residents, and plans for a Moyie dance fund. Also notices on sales and employment, with a Moyie baby burial and local business changes.
Times report a mine shutdown in Butte will lay off about 2,000 miners. The payroll loss is described as a severe blow to Butte and the northwest, though officials expect the shutdown to be short.

Mill workers express discouragement over the northwest visit and orders slow to arrive. Yards are stocked to capacity and a general shut down seems near. Workers are reluctant but acknowledge the grim situation awaiting further developments.
Paul Jenson purchased the old fire hall and moved it to his lot on south Tavistock street where it will be fixed up as a dwelling. The reel hose nozzles and other equipment have been moved to the new hall.
The notice warns Moyie district voters to attend a school meeting Monday October 7 at 8 p m to elect a trustee replacing Geo H Edwards. A hoist breakdown at Lake Shore works caused many workers to be laid off for a few days. US Senator Borah of Idaho has been acquitted of conspiring to defraud the government of timber lands.
In Moyie twenty five new buildings were erected over the past summer, mainly solid residences. The additions include a new Presbyterian church and a fire hall, signaling growth and improved civic facilities.
