Haywood mass meeting planned at Tavistock route march

A large popular demonstration is planned for Haywood with a line of march from Tavistock to Tivistock and a reception for the principal. A mass meeting at an open air garden will feature Haywood delivering an address if agreeable, with townspeople urged to attend.

C A Hood of Fort Wayne Indiana representing Deister Concentrator Co visits the 86 Eugene mill to oversee the installation of a No 2 Deister table while two No 1 size units are already in use. The tables are described as a new invention and are reported to be highly satisfactory wherever deployed.

Summers In Mine Blast Faces Possible Eye Loss

Tom Summers, injured at the St. Eugene mine last week and hospitalized in Spokane, remains critical with little hope of saving his eye. His wife, his brother Phil and wife, and Wm. Bird are at his side.

At Cranbrook last Monday P G Routh bought 12 milch cows and leased them to Geo Hudson who moved the herd behind the Rad er place to supply Moyie town. Hudson plans building and adding 20 more cows this fall. Cameron Batt auctioned nearby. J W Pitch expands to delivery service with a new horse and Calgary rig. Development at St Eugene Mine Expands Pay Roll

At the St Eugene mine the payroll grows with more men than ever as summer development continues. No dividends are cut, and the Lake Shore shaft will reach 600 feet, with plans for another station and drifting. A larger crew of carpenters works at the shaft house and mill additions, including changes for new cages and a sorting addition.

Cambrian mine gains new big boat from Meredith and Bridges

Chas A MacKay bought a 40 foot long, solidly built vessel from Messrs Meredith and Bridges. The boat, previously used as a wood barge, will receive an engine and be operated in connection with the Cambrian mine where MacKay serves as manager.

Moyie Co operative Store Moves Toward Rochdale System

For a cooperative store in Moyie an open meeting was held Wednesday evening. G H Edwards chaired and Walter Wells James Roberts Rev Mr Boulton and others spoke. Roberts explained Rochdale cooperation and the motion to adopt it passed Roberts was named secretary and authorized to receive stock subscriptions by August 15. Wreck Delays Spokane Passenger Train After Switch Tampering

A eastbound passenger train was derailed at a switch near Spokane last Monday due to an unlocked and tampered switch. The Moyie freight car and other cars caused a five hour delay. no one was injured. Passengers spent time sightseeing near the lake while the line cleared. A foreign train reportedly passed safely about 20 minutes ahead. Children playing near the switch were blamed for the tampering, though the outcome could have been fatal.
