London Aldermen Convene on Navy Seamen Bounties
The Common Council in the Guildhall on January 6 1793 unanimously resolved bounties for sailors. Forty shillings per able seaman and twenty shillings per ordinary seaman, beyond royal bounty, for up to one month, with Remembrancer to inform the Admiralty and a named committee to execute the resolutions.

A gathering at the Duke's Head near Ruffell Street Fettenham Court Road on January 9 1799 formed a committee to draft a declaration in support of the British constitution. Claudius Charles chaired and the Declaration pledged loyalty and defense of the established order, with a deputation planned to present to Sir Henry Clinton. The event was published in Morning Post and Public Ledger.
