The Chamber of the City of London invites subscriptions through local bankers and Lloyds Coffee House bar. The committee has contracted for 5 000 pairs of shoes 1 600 trawlers and 5 008 cotton handkerchiefs for neck wear and agreed to contract for 5 900 pairs of woollen mitts.
A distressed widow long in righteous standing appeals to benevolence for relief as she and her dependent daughter endure extreme poverty. Beset by Continental wartime disruption and a blocked legacy, she fears losing her bed and furniture to cover overdue rent. Donations may be sent to listed London shops and tradesmen assisting in aid collection.
