Public Credit Restoration Plan Adopted in Newcastle Meeting
A large Newcastle upon Tyne assembly chaired by Mayor James Rudman formed a fifteen member committee to devise methods to restore public credit. The panel reported in full and urged continued effort until the recommended plan took effect. The guarantee was instantly entered, raising three hundred twenty thousand two hundred pounds by six o'clock.
