Auction notices and city property sale in London in 1829

Execution of Burke Scarred Edinburgh as mob fills streets

Yesterday Burke died on the scaffold after a storm of popular excitement. The crowd packed streets from Castle-hill to the Exchange, with 20,000 onlookers filling Libberton's wynd and surrounding windows. Burke faced the crowd with calmness, received communion, and after prayers and a final exchange with magistrates, the drop fell at eight.

Irate letter from Daniel O'Connell dated January 28 1829 to Clare electors explaining a delay in sitting in Parliament to challenge Vesey Fitzgeralds charges against Catholic clergy. He announces intent to travel to London February 6 7 or 12 to seek a legal ruling on his right to sit and vote and calls for Irish noblemen to join in a united parliamentary effort to uphold the union treaty and Irish rights.

Catholic Association meeting recalls Anglesea amid outrages claims

The Catholic Association met with Patrick Ryan chairing and Rev. L Eestrange as secretary. Speakers denounced Galignani's Messenger, discussed Irish outrages in the north, and urged Parliament action for legal protection and king's troops.
