Ireland Royalstatic Society Meets Over Union Proposal
The Royalstatic Society held a special meeting at Grafton Street chaired by Colonel Lushington to discuss a potential union between the Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland and the Literary Society of Bombay. Debate followed with calls for immediate action or postponement. Sir George Staunton supported progress, others urged delay.
