No27. The Monitor and a Dream of a Temple of Virtue
The narrator recalls a dream from rest in which he stands on a hill above a vast city and encounters a monumental temple with a female statue of a masculine, determined countenance. An inscription reads Odi profanum vulgus, arceo, and a guiding genius urges entry to the sacred ground as the temple of virtue.
