Mr and Mrs Ellis of Gladstone visited with Mrs D Kelly while Mrs Spalding and family from Miveses Shirley Kelly Brandon and A Lazare from Melville called at the same home.
Mr Dr McDonald remains a patient at Hamida hospital. W H Hill bought the FE Johnson home and Wm Shewchuk the S Ford residence. Mrs J F Strachan marks her 90th birthday Saturday and Gilbert Rowan turns 92 on Sunday. Harvest work stalls due to rain with Alberta reports of up to four feet of snow in places. Scottish visitors Mr and Mrs Wm Duncan and son from Prestwick tour Canada and America, meeting Mr Duncan’s sister Mrs David Cunningham, last week en route home to Scotland mid next month.
Mr and Mrs W H Massey Ninette and Mr and Mrs Mat Massey of Sault Ste Marie Ontario visited at the Oliver home on Sunday The latter couple with Lloyd Oliver renewed wartime acquaintances at the Les Bryan and Jack Hanlin homes.
A local drive finds 23 people fined five dollars plus costs for operating without radio licenses. Licenses cost two dollars or two fifty, prompting questions about who holds valid licenses and a possible upcoming jolt for late recipients.
A Junior Bridge Club gathering at Mrs Ed Spalding's home bids farewell to Mrs W N Stevenson and Mrs B Ford with gifts and best wishes. A later meeting honored Mrs K A Moyer in similar fashion.
More than half of Wheatland Westwood pupils, eight of fourteen, were found carriers of contagious diseases and sent home. Four diseases identified are whooping cough, lice, impetigo, and scabies. The health officer warns the school must be cleaned within two weeks or face closure. Parents of expelled children are urged to supervise them.
Arden Kaye, a Toronto actress, appears in CBC Stage 47 series and also stars in It's a Legend broadcast Sundays at 800 p.m. on CBC. She is secured with the New Play Society, a Toronto Theatre group.
