Mines Laboratories Reports Record Gold Ore Testing Demand
The Mines Branch Laboratory of the Canadian Department of Mines notes first half gold ore testing receipts exceed any previous period. Ores come from Canadian gold properties nearing production as laboratories test mill treatment processes. Three gold ore projects are under way including refractory ores in Bridge River BC and studies linking mineralization to treatment challenges. Base metal test work remains higher than 1935 but lighter than pre depression years. Demand for non metallic ores rises with construction activity as tests cover china clay, allica sands, quartzite, calcite, garnet, mica, and asbestos tailings.
