Church In The Wilderness At St George Manitoba
A visitor describes a roadside church two miles from Lake Winnipeg in St George Manitoba on an Indian reserve. The structure features wood panelling, a life size Jesus Christ statue at the entrance, a side room for mothers with babies, and a mural by a native artist portraying the Condemnation and Crucifixion, the dove and cross, and the old walled city. The piece notes craftsmanship and hints the young painter may become a notable Canadian artist.
