Dairy Cows Respond to Rapeseed Meal Varieties in Diets
Manitoba agricultural notes reveal two studies on rapeseed meal in dairy cow rations. Bronowski rapeseed meal may replace up to 25 percent of dairy concentrate without milk loss, while higher levels of commercial rapeseed meal reduced fat corrected milk unless molasses or flavor improved intake. Span rapeseed meal offered similar outcomes to soy. Additional findings discuss nitrogen and water supply effects on yields and protein, plus a Manitoba release of Managra pigs and local school and construction actions.
