Hamiota Juniors repeat as Western Canada champions after a weekend series sweep over Hodgeville. Edmonton, the Alberta champion, provided the opposition in the first game with Sangster earning the win as Hamiota held off a late Edmonton charge. Asselstine starred with a double and multiple one hitters while Woods and Knight contributed key moments as Manitoba’s baymen prevailed 12-3. Hamiota District Hospital Aid Meeting Report
The Hamiota District No. 7A Ladies Aid met in the community room, August 25, with nine districts represented. Treasurers balance stood at 1859.42 dollars, expenses 2.75, and notes included kitchen knives jelly roll pans cups. Reports from the hospital board noted 85 adults treated four babies eleven major operations eleven minor, 26 outpatients and five bottles of Red Cross blood used, plus 6074 pounds of laundry. Next meeting set for September 22, with two additional hospital bedroom units to be purchased this year. Reports on Winnipeg convention were given by Mrs. Fleming and Mrs. Hud Anderson. The gathering closed with Mispah Benediction.
