Canadian Cellulose Co. Posts Losses in First Half of 1957
The Canadian Chemical and Cellulose Co. says its operating profit fell due to factors including a strong foreign exchange discount and early year issues at Prince Rupert. Pulp production rose while costs declined, but textile and lumber markets remained weak and wages and transport costs rose. The company plans facility updates expected to boost later-year performance. Castlegar BC August 22 1957.
