The Golden Age Club met last Wednesday at Isa Bella Hall on muddy roads. Twenty three members and visitors attended hosted by the U C W with seven July and August birthdays named. A letter from Mrs J Ewing thanked the Drop-In Centre for raffle funds from Mrs R K Chalmers. Swan River residents note the raffle run by Mrs Conk and tickets sold by members. winner was Mrs Bila Beattie. An amount of 205 dollars was donated to the Drop-In and Chalmers donated knitted pillow cases with a stitching sign for ticket sales among Golden Age Club members.
Abijah and the group enjoyed a mixed evening with a humorous word game using alphabet letters for a storytelling exercise. Mrs Finkbeiner and Mrs Heise led activities while Mr Greaves screened Canadian nature photos set to music to honor the Creator. Tea, thanks, blessings, and wrapped dainties followed.

The Universal Product Code or UPC is a new bar code system developed in the late 1960s by U.S. grocers. It uses a ten-digit code on product packaging to identify manufacturer and product, enabling scanning at checkout, automatic price display, and up-to-date inventory. If widely adopted by 1976, it will reduce pricing errors and help consumers track purchases while eliminating many price tags.
