Reeve Mitchell delivered a toast highlighting the town’s good condition while urging support for civic affairs and schools. Rev Simpson proposed the Schools toast, Wim Iverach proposed the Teachers toast with responses from Miss Davidson and J Laird, G L Dibblee. J Spaldin proposed the Ladies toast, with singing and instrumental interludes by local performers.
An August note in the Chicago Price Current Grain Reporter described a three million bushel wheat delivery by the Pool on July 31 to cover July option gales. The Central Selling Agency of the Canadian Pools dismissed it then but it has retreated as a paid advertisement in Western Canadian weeklies.
