Government forage seed order deadline set for 1970
The Government Forage Seed Policy runs until November 13 1970 allowing farmers to order mixed forage seed at 2.00 per acre in 10 20 and 30 acre allotments. Popular mixes include Brome Alfalfa for slopes and moisture, Crested wheatgrass Alfalfa for moisture and erosion, Tall wheatgrass Slender wheatgrass Sweet clover Alfalfa for alkali soils, and Brome Crested wheatgrass Slender wheatgrass for dryland pasture. The Manitoba Feed Testing Lab warns nitrates from frost damaged forage may pose a risk and offers a one dollar nitrate test for wheat oat or barley forage while grain kernel tests cost three dollars. mailing address provided.

A C W Meet MINIOTA Oct 19 Off Church Plan
The A C W meeting was held October 19 at Mrs Wadham's home with 10 members and 2 visitors present. Mrs Howard led a thankoffering service assisted by Mrs Mossop reading scripture. Thankoffering boxes were received. Used stamps are to be collected for the Leprosy Mission. The annual bazaar will be held in the Community Centre. New kneeling pads for the choir will be made. Items for a mission base due at the church by November 8. Discussion on Indian and European cultures. Next meeting set for November 16 at Mrs Argue's.

Gil Fearnall has been appointed administrative assistant to W A LeBlanc commissioner Manitoba Division Canadian Red Cross Society. He joined the society in 1957 as provincial organizer for the blood transfusion service, was appointed assistant director in 1960, and director in 1961, holding that post until his recent appointment.
