Eskimo Census Taken On Nascopie Voyage

Despite ice conditions described as the worst in 40 years the government vessel Nascopie finished its annual 12 000 mile eastern Arctic voyage two days early. Officials say enumerators on board distributed identification discs to Eskimos bearing their number and syllabic mark to record native population and usual habitation accurately. Natives had to place their mark on the disc as personal identification for years ahead.

Canadians Urged to Double War Savings Drive

Toronto Finance Minister Ilsley urged Canadians to raise per capita investment from 50 cents a month in war savings stamps. He cited 1,400,600 participants with 10,044,416 applications totaling $91,403,841 and 30,000 volunteers enabling low government costs. Livestock For Britain Arranged By Irish Officials

Eire agricultural officials arrived in London to finalize arrangements for shipping about 15 million pounds sterling of Irish cattle and sheep to Britain.
