The note promotes Castle Square Entertainers tickets available at the drug store. It laments reliance on voluntary church contributions and argues Western Canada should support its own churches without overcharging for foreign missions. It urges prioritizing domestic reform before expansion abroad.
The bellpost at the fire hall is unreachable on practice nights. Second hand gasoline tanks and a few lamps are for sale. A call to any citizen appears. Locals note many black bottle refreshments around back lanes. Since the new G T P station opened north of town, the agent there is busy. Some one finished painting hardware. A millinery opening runs October 23 to November 4 at W L Hodnett’s store.
On Monday Henry Cusack Jr suffered a crushing injury when his right foot was caught in the gearing of his threshing outfit. Doctors Crandell Frazer and Chalmers attended and amputated the foot below the ankle. Earlier Hank had strained his knee playing football at Beulah, possibly affecting his mobility and recovery.
William Barton, a 30 year old Englishman from Peterborough, employed by Fred Crump, was killed instantly when his clothing was caught in the drive belt of a gasoline engine operating a crusher. The accident happened Tuesday afternoon and he was buried at Two Creeks with Mr Mc Grinness officiating yesterday.
Vermilion district mourns Dr Stevenson a pioneer physician of Virden who died last week leaving a respected legacy across the region. He was among the district’s early settlers and well regarded throughout the country.
Crandell Manitoba council meets to set taxes at par through Dec 15 with 10 per cent penalty thereafter. They consider culvert works east of Crandell station, sidewalk repairs, nuisance ground surveys, street work to Beulah, and funding for municipal hall caretakers. Delegates to Brandon convention and survey planning also approved.

Pie Misses Gladys and Frances Russell and others motored from Strathelai on Sunday to spend the day with Mr and Mrs Andrew Manson at 1:3 place and returned home on slowday. Miss Amy Rowan Gillespie and MacPherson returned Saturday from the Brandon schoolteachers convention. W. T. Shaw came back the same night. All enjoyed the sessions in the wheat city.
