Miss Susie Powell, who spent an extended visit with friends and relatives in the district, returned to Winnipeg on Tuesday.
Harry Mullins emerged again in the news after receiving a contract offer to supply the Portuguese government with 5000 cattle ranging from 150 to 1200 lbs for shipment between now and December. The report also notes Mrs H Bassey and son from Minnesota visiting, Miss Norma Evans from Winnipeg returning home, W Forster’s summer trip return, and Bill’s motor cycle act before heading to Antallon to help in his uncle’s store.
Miss J T Elliott postmistress of Arrow River died from a paralytic stroke suffered earlier in the week. Born in Guelph Ontario in 1858 she moved west in 1882 and led the Arrow River post office since 1914. Funeral services were held at United Church Arrow River with a large turnout and burial at Arrow River cemetery. She leaves three brothers and two sisters.
