Damaged grain feeding guidance for farm livestock
Agricultural notes explain how damaged grains affect feed value. Frozen grain raises bran and hull content while lowering starch thus adding vegetable oil or nondamaged grain to rations for poultry and swine. hay may be reduced for cattle and sheep with more grain. Sprouted grain yields fall but remains usable. moldy grain harms germination and should be introduced gradually, with limits on moldy silage.
