Phe ty of Brandonia plans a 1000 watt broadcasting station soon. Mr and Mrs McLean and daughter Grace left Monday for Saskatoon. Miss Lees of Portage la Prairie visits with her daughter Mrs R Taylor.
Mrs. A Hogg and daughter from Regina visit Mr and Mrs G Cornish. Dr Chalmers broke ground Friday for a new Miniota school. Miss Dixon leaves for Regina to reside, while Miss G McKenzie of Willon takes her vacated post.
A Beulah threshing crew found stones in the sheaves and the separator ignited, suspected from a box of matches placed in a sheaf. Authorities have no trace of the offender at this time.
A large group from the area attended Sunday's unveiling ceremony in Victoria park Virden for the district war memorial. Col Rattary, traveling from Ottawa, conducted the event which honors 64 names including two nursing sisters.
Over the past year Manitoba saw 75 new industries established and factory output rise 17 percent. More than five thousand workers gained factory jobs as public support for home industries grew through the Made in Manitoba campaign led by the Industrial Development Board. A province wide push is planned for October 15 to 20 to boost attention to supporting local industries.
Messrs McLean Trout and Binghoem of the Manitoba Power Commission visit to promote electric lighting. A meeting is set for Wednesday night October 3 at the Municipal Hall in Minsota to hear what the commission offers, with Colonel Bingham likely speaking. Citizens are urged to attend to push forward a definite lighting plan.
