Friends of Miss Lynn Reveley are told her wedding took place Saturday October 18 in Bermuda. The Holy Trinity church basement bazaar raised 130.05 dollars. Mrs Elmer Clark won the pink baby set.
All council members attended on 12 November with Reeve Lynch presiding. They approved two Old Age and one Blind Pension applications, agreed to share rent for the Shoal Lake office, accepted a Dominion Agriculture sprayer for Weed Control Unit 13, and noted Spalding’s resignation as secretary treasurer effective 31 December 1947. They planned to appoint Edwin J. M. Spalding from 1 January 1948, approved sheep killings claims, granted 10 to the International Peace Garden, and raised telephone operators’ salaries by 10 a month from 1 November 1947. They applied for road funding to improve Main Market Roads at an estimated $8000, and read by laws 1045–1047 regarding land transfers and road reopening. Next meeting set for Miniota on 12 December.
The Council invites offers for four properties including areas north and west of Ravine in sections 10-13-17 and south and east of Ravine in sections 10-13-27, plus Lot 4 and 5, Block 5, Plan 595 Crandall occupied by H B Whitney and Lot 14, Block 3, Plan 1713 Beulah formerly occupied by James Clark. All offers must be received by December 10 1947 to the undersigned John Spalding Secretary Treasurer.
