Higher Truck Rate Approved by Board
The Manitoba Highway Transport Board approved a new truck tariff effective November 15, with an overall rate rise of about 15 to 20 percent. The plan sets a maximum tariff, allows lower filings with 30 days notice, and tightens progression by weight and mileage while boosting charges for small shipments and terminal pickup or delivery. Surcharges to carriers end on November 15, with specialized-rate carriers allowed to use current rates through December before filing new ones.
