Bill Moroz, Joe Krapalik, and FR Wilowidnyk were sentenced to two years in prison for attempting to extort Peter Marshall about two months ago. They face additional charges in the Marchand district, preventing any further similar acts for at least two years.
The Minota school hosted a whist drive and dance by the Community Link Committee. Twenty six tables played with prizes to Mrs EF Spalding and Miss Margare Rowan among the top ladies and Lorne Powell and D Dablarer among the top gentlemen. A ladies lunch followed, then music by Jack Cook and floor manager A J Leland. About 45, funds will cover rink materials for the season.
The W A of Holy Trinity church will hold their annual bazaar in A J Lelands dining room on Saturday December 5 from 3 p.m. The sale features fancy articles home cooking silver tea and fish pond.

The United Church U P S met in the church basement on Wednesday night. Mr Franklin gave an address on The War and Miss PY Dorward sang In Flanders Fields. A social, contest, and luncheon followed, with the next meeting at the home of Mr and Mrs R Peel on November 25. Cars depart the church at 5 1/4.
Mrs N Robinson expresses sincere thanks for cards and floral tributes after a recent bereavement. A Manitoba Extension Service lesson on Clothing the Family, led by Mr Ames, was held Saturday in the Municipal Hall, focusing on pattern testing fitting and material preparation.
