Opening of Holy Trinity Church in Miniota
The Anglican church in Miniota opened on Sunday May 24 with Holy Communion and Morning Prayer led by Rev. C. H. F. Jeffreys. Despite weather delaying exterior work, interior features and chancel details impressed worshippers. The Sons of England and Miniota Lodge members attended a posing procession, with a large 7:30 pm service and substantial fundraising for the church. The choir and soloists received high praise, especially Miss Nellie Wiggins for multiple solos. Baptism and an evening service followed, ending with congratulations to Rev. Jeffreys and the Vicar Thomas for their roles in the opening.
