Community society tea honors Mrs G Cornish in Miniota district
The W M 3 of the Minnesota United Church held afternoon tea at Mrs Grant's home on Thursday with Mrs G Cornish as guest of honor. President Mrs J R Lynch presented a gift in appreciation of her years of work in the district. Mrs Cornish expressed thanks and best wishes for the society's future. Births announced include a son to Mr and Mrs J T H Dunon of Two Creeks born May 71 at Miniota Hospital and a son to Mr and Mrs W Groholsk born May 20 at Uno.

Girls Bridge Club closes season with prize winners named
The Girls Bridge Club ended the season with a Thursday meeting at Miss H Ballys home. Phyllis Dorward won first prize for high scores, Helen Bally was second, and Edna Keily took the consolation prize. They plan a 4 paper chase and bacon roast in the valley soon.

Community Memorial Service set for June 25 in Miniota
The Canadian Legion in Miniota announces a Community Memorial Service to honor World War I fallen on Sunday June 25 at 3 pm. Brandon Salvation Army Band will not perform on June 18 due to Winnipeg engagement, so the 25th date was chosen. Citizens are invited to attend the afternoon service and evening Salvation Army Band performance.

First Mimota Girl Guides Concert Praised By Local Audience
The 1st Company of Mimota Girl Guides and Brownies held a Friday night concert in Mimiota hall. Despite a small turnout, the program pleased the appreciative audience, with praise for the Guides and Brownies and a call for community support of youth movements including the Boy Scouts and Cubs.
