Manitoba Jobless Rate Drops Slightly in April
Manitoba reports an actual unemployment rate of 6.8 percent in April, down from March and higher than 4.6 percent a year earlier. The seasonally adjusted rate rose to 6.7 percent. Manitoba’s labour force grew by 9,000 to 454,000 and employment rose by 11,000 to 423,000. Canada overall shows April unemployment at 8.8 percent actual and 8.3 percent seasonally adjusted, with labour force up 46,000 to 10,340,000 and employment up 75,000 to 9,425,000.
