School Board Meeting Sets 1947 48 Plans In Minnesota
The Municipal School Board met in Minnesota on April 30 with Dr RK Chalmers presiding. The group urged wiring of all schools before opening after summer break or contract cancellation. Principal salaries stay level, teachers receive 1300, vacancies to be filled by the Teacher's committee, and field day planned at Beulah on May 80. Tender ad for Glenlochar school and transportation changes include a new Oswin to Beulah route at 270 and Route 1 to Miniota reduced to 2.40 from April 14. Meeting adjourned at chair’s call.

Rural Council Minutes From Miniota Meeting May 1
The rural council conducted its May 1 meeting in Miniota with all members present led by Reeve Lynch. Actions included levies payments to school districts, granting telephone service approval, grants of 150 to the Salvation Army and 50 for Grace hospital work, hiring F P Leary at 85 cents per hour, M J Powell as Road Patrol operator at 70 cents per hour, Ward charges of 2 dollars per hour for patrol, forming a weed control unit with Hamiota and Blansbard, and appointing Finkbeiner and Hawes to attend the organization meeting. Ward 1947 appropriation set at 3 million assessment. By-law No. 1030 for resale and transfer was read and passed.
