Freda Mary Norris of Sunthorpe Lincolnshire England married Benjamin Owen Whitfield rector of Holy Trinity Miniota at St Matthew's Pro Catedral Brandon on Wednesday April 18 officiated by Lord Bishop of Brandon De W H Toomas with Rev Vred deseen P Heywood assisting. Bride wore a dusky rose wool ensemble with brown accessories and a corsage of Tal ia poses.

Edward Little, pioneer of the Arrowton district, died at San Joaquin hospital in Bakersfield California on Thursday April 26 at age 87. Funeral set for 2:30 Saturday May Sth at his son Magnus Little’s home with burial in Crandall Cemetery.

A Miniota Y P A service at United church marked the dedication of a Communion table honoring district war heroes. The service, titled Canada Today and Tomorrow, was led by the youth with Jean and Ruth MacKinnon Kallie Lynch Jim Reynolds Milburn McKenzie prominent. Doris Penelton read scripture.
Hon James Allison Glen Rae was unanimously chosen as Liberal Progressive nominee at Shoal Lake on Wednesday. Nomination moved by Robert Smelle of Russell and seconded by Ward Meadows of Minnedosa. Glen has represented Marquette for ten years and served as Speaker before being appointed Minister of Mines and Natural Resources.
