Miniota Council Revisions and Budget Moves in Express Meeting

The Miniota council met with full attendance and adopted last minutes. They ordered $190 to be paid for lamp maintenance. The council adjourned to sit as a court of revision and later planned to rescind a previous motion affecting Uno and Thoona school districts. Road levies were set at six mills and two road inspectors to be hired.

McMILLAN-EVANS NUPTIALS IN Beulah

The Frazer home in Beulah hosted a May 1 wedding of Agnes F Evans sister of Mrs Frazer to Rev. A McMillan of Elgin Manitoba. The ceremony followed by a family gathering of the Frazer clan and a dinner, with the couple traveling to Elk River then Winnipeg, to settle after May 1.

New Pulpit Erected at Holy Trinity Church

A pulpit was erected at Holy Trinity Church in L. Me. Narry. Well-driller arrived in town and digs a well for Mr. Warren. T. B. Brandon returned from college and helps with an illustrated project. Sunday service will start with Eversong and a 7:30 PM sermon titled The Church. All welcome.

Road Superintendent Posts Open in Miniota Area

Public notice from Rural Municipality of Miniota invites applications by May 21 1912 for two road superintendents to oversee eastern and western divisions with eight worker teams each. Sixteen additional men and teams needed for June to August work. Wages set at 3.50 per day for a road supervisor and 4.50 per day for man and team. Signed by W Howard Miniota April 29 1912.

Death of George C. Webster in Beulah District

The community was shocked by the sudden death of George C. Webster on Wednesday morning. He had been ill for three weeks with catarrhal obstruction of the liver following pneumonia. Born in Lucknow Ontario in 1865 he moved to Beulah district in 1888 and resided there ever since. His wife died two years ago and he leaves a family of four.

Holy Trinity W A elects officers at annual meeting

The Holy Trinity W A met at Mrs. J J Evans's home for the annual meeting. Officers elected include President Mrs A J Leader Vice President Mrs Jas Seuart Treasurer Mrs Fred Clarke. Retiring president Mrs J L Evans thanked for her service. Tea followed. A postscript notes a Wotoga lawn social on May 24 with Mr Clinton lending his lawn and inviting all to attend.

Court Finds Poacher Guilty In Wheat Theft Case

The Beulah farm case, heard at the Tipple police court, ends with John Tocher found guilty of stealing Marquis wheat. Magistrate Manwaring imposes 60 day jail or fine and orders payment of 55 dollars for the wheat’s value. An appeal was noted. prosecution by Donald Sinclair.

A quiet wedding was held in Hamiota on Tuesday uniting Miss Louise Durnett of Sussex and Jeremiah Lelond, with Rev. McKinney officiating. The Lelonds will reside on the farm near Arrow River, and congratulations are extended.

Anniversary Service Marks Lodge 1 O O F Milestone

Parkistine Lodge 1 O O F observes the order’s anniversary with a Sunday evening service at the Presbyterian church. Members marched from the hall to the church while Rev Beattie preached on James 1 27 urging pure religion through visiting the widow and fatherless and keeping oneself unspotted from the world. Special hymns were sung.
