Farm notes advise early planting of hybrid rose bushes as soon as they appear in stores, suggest storing stock in a cool basement, and recommend a flexible tine rake for lawn raking. Prune shrubs before growth starts, avoid trimming most evergreens, and store nursery stock in a cool, shaded place or heel in if soil or planting conditions aren’t ready.
The Birdtail River School Division No. 38 met on Thursday April 24 1969 at 8 00 pm with trustees Fulton Rapley Selby Randell Hames Lewycky Butcher Hyndman Waddell Falloon and Armitage present. Topics included correspondence notices changes orders for Hamiota Collegiate addition approval of bills and by law to acquire title plus investments and signage requirements. meeting adjourned to May 1 1969. Anonymous letters previously received were noted as needing signed correspondence.

Regular meeting of Hospital District No.7A Ladies Aid held April 25 presided by Mrs Wm Hedley. Fourteen districts represented as minutes read and approved. Treasurer shows bank balance 1423.28. Readings note allocations from several districts. Florence Nightingale tea and bake sale planned for May 9 in Fraternal Hall.
Manitoba's hunter safety training program received a national NRA award for quality and results. Raymond Hoem of Montana presented the honor to Ministers Harry Enns and Gurney Evans after a committee named Manitoba among ten outstanding programs. Beginning September 1 licensing requires completion if no prior licence or under age 19.
A C W met April 21 at Mrs Chris Ellerington s with 6 pres. Used clothing and layette may be left in church basement by May 15 to be packed. A total of 22.25 dollars was sent to Ho Yu Ming for April. Bake sale and tea planned for May 10 in Anglican Church basement. Next meeting May 20 at Mrs Goodwin s home.
