Steam motor cars, used in Montreal and Toronto suburbs, will be deployed on the Miniota and Lenore branches to provide daily passenger service with engine, baggage car, coach for 33 passengers, and trailer capacity. The service, first of its kind in the west, will begin near the end of May with strong connections to the north country.

Fire destroys Hamiota hotel. no lives lost
A five o'clock Friday morning blaze gutted the 25 room Aaisto 4 hotel in Hamiota.
