Rev and Mrs Watts Honoured at Community Farewell
Rev and Mrs A M Watts were honored guests at a March 16 farewell in the Community Centre. Prizes were won by Linda Leland and J R Lynch, Mrs W J Collier and Bob Draper. The CGIT presented the Irish List and songs. Watts leave Miniota in December 1955 for Edinburgh to pursue a PhD while their two children, Margaret and Martin, remain in care.

W H Gregory conducts funeral service, pallbearers named Arnold Walker Dave Rowan Lloyd Stewart Milburn McKenzie George Stowe Robert Bonner. burial in Miniota Cemetery. Survived by parents Mr and Mrs P C Watts a brother Charles and grandmother Mrs Chas Natts. Local W A W M S meeting reported with talks on immigration and unemployment and farewell for A M Watts.

Mixed bonspiel marks sixty years of curling event
The mixed bonspiel wrapped on March 13 after weather delays. W J Mossop’s rink won A Event host chairs by defeating Arrow River’s J Bonner rink. Other winners included Ted Morton Two Creeks and L Fulton Birtle among multiple prize categories. Roy McCaw was drawmaster.
