Mrs. Mary Anne Cole, aged 82 years 2 months 16 days, died at Miniota on Wednesday morning at 10 am at her daughter Mrs. W E Warren's home. She immigrated from England in 1844, settled in Two Creeks district, farmed with her husband, later moved to Miniota. Her husband Mr. Chas Cole died in 1916. She was a respected resident and friend to many in the community.

J. C. Brown, president of Brown Fruit Co. of Edmonton, returned on the Metagama after a three month Europe trip. He was in Germany during the Ruhr invasion and noted bitter racial feeling between Germans and French. Brown found Canadian and American visitors warmly welcomed, crediting Lloyd George’s advocacy of compromise. He said travel in Germany was cheap, citing a 100 mile trip for fifty cents Canadian.
