Miniota School Board Holds Regular Meeting
The Miniota School Board met February 27 1963 at the Municipal Hall with all members present except J Edmundson. The board adopted January 4 minutes, discussed correspondence, approved the Isabella School inspector report, and considered budget and by law approvals. They voted to reduce ward trustees to one from 1964 and set Easter holidays from April 12 to 20 1963. Expenses approved totaled 6015.96 on cheques 1211 to 1253 and the budget approved at 84784.81. Meeting adjourned.

Thelma Gayle Topps and Edward Gordon Morton were married March 2 at Miniota United Church with Rev. John G. Sloan officiating. The ceremony featured a double ring exchange, organ music, and a reading of O Perfect Love. The couple will reside on a farm near Miniota after a wedding trip to Eastern Ontario and New York City.

District Happenings Mixed bonspiel links and travels noted
Rev H L Bowman of Portage la Prairie visited Portage for a few days with Mr and Mrs A Adams. Mixed bonspiel at Miniota features many links. Foxwarren Ladies bonspiel last week saw Mrs J Ross Mrs D Bell Mrs J Dagg and Mrs R Doran win third in the Challenge. L Irving of Central Butte Sask visited the J Coxworth home and watched Brier games in Brandon. R E Heise visited Dauphin and spent time with Mrs R Warren in hospital after an operation. J Wall and R Young rinks were prize winners at the Birtle bonspiel. A large crowd attended the Friday afternoon school visit and viewed teacher and pupil work. coffee and donuts were served by the girls in the high.

World Day of Prayer service held at Crandall United Church
The Crandall U C W meet on March 1 in the church parlour with quiet music and floral displays. Members Mrs R Webber Mrs G Steen and Mrs L Lipscombe prepared the leaflet and readings covered World Day of Prayer funds and the Dirty Bags donation drive. A film A Matter of Choice was shown, and notes of thanks were read for Halifax port workers gifts. An open workshop for Bible Society is planned with a Crandall Church venue to be decided. Rev Harland of Strathclair will present slides from the Holy Land at the April 10 meeting and the Junior Choir will perform Easter music.
