World dignitaries praise honor roll in Brantford album
An album of honor for Brantford and Brant county veterans features thousands of names and pictures. Copies were sent to the King and leaders including Eleanor Roosevelt, Montgomery, Truman, Eisenhower, Churchill, Marshall, and MacKenzie, who all replied with praise. Charles F. Kettering, in Miami Beach, said a $15,000 prize for atomic defense was withdrawn on advice to avoid harming the bomb’s diplomatic value.
