Rural Council Minutes From Minnesota Meeting
The rural council met on Wednesdays in Minnesota and transacted several items. Grants were approved to the Salvation Army for 200 and to cemeteries for 100 each. Weed inspector Nixon Warren was hired at 115 monthly plus 29 percent on tax collections with duties starting June 1. A Mother’s allowance committee was named with Hamilton and Mrs. J. M. Elliott and Jas. Boyce as members. reeve to chair the Telephone system for 1925. Additional grants were approved to St. Boniface Orphanage and Old Folks Home for 25 and to the Brandon District Good Roads Association, with Graham and Craig as representatives. Boundary road payments were authorized to Birtle council, and Jne Spalding appointed assessor for 1925 with roll re-writing. The clerk was instructed to contact the Assistant General Manager, C N. R., Winnipeg about moving a railway crossing at 2nd Street East in Isabella townsite to connect with the new road north. A committee including Reeve Mitchell, Councillor Lynch, and Peel was formed to arrange the H. Armitage road agreement. The council also sat as a Court of Revision and reduced assessments on multiple parcels, and decided appeals regarding several parcels were not entertained. The next meeting is March 31.
