Severe Storm Ravages Manitoba District with Major Losses
A violent electrical storm swept from Bredenburg to Winnipeg causing widespread damage. Portage la Prairie area hit hardest with 32 barns destroyed and crops flattening. two elevators and several buildings burned or leveled. Total damage over 2 million dollars with crop losses across Birtle Shoal Lake Minnedosa and Miramdoas districts. Lumber yards and power infrastructure in Winnipeg also damaged.
