Manitoba to Levy Park Fees June 29 1962
Manitoba will start park-user fees in three provincial parks and four recreational areas effective Friday June 29. Fees 50 cents per car day or 3 dollars per car season, applying to both provincial camps and recreation areas to fund development and maintenance. Transient pedlars will face annual vehicle licenses of 25 to 50 dollars, aligning rules with park operators.

The McConnell Fat Stock Show and Sale are set for Saturday with cattle judging at 11:00 p.m. Dinner at 11:30 a.m. and calfs clubs judging moving to 12:30 p.m. A sale of all cattle follows by about 3:30 p.m. The Hamiota Rally, Rivers, Virden, Brandon, Oak River and Hamiota fairs are scheduled between late June and mid July. A $600 CNE 4H scholarship is available to Manitoba 4H members with a July 13 deadline and interviews July 27 in Winnipeg. Last year's winner was James Wilton of Carman.

Beulah reported allocation Crandall cited 15 hours mending and Isabella made 53 towels. Treasurer showed a balance of 1073 12 dollars. A linen committee was named to ensure hospital needs are met: Mrs R O Frazer Mrs Riddell Mrs L Wright Mrs A Knight. Lavinia read from the year book and noted a Fraternal Hall event on August 4 at the hall. Mending for July to be done by Harding and McConnell.
