Farm notes warn improper selection and over use of tillage left summerfallow fields bare and prone to erosion last year. Wide blade cultivators and rod weeders suit summerfallow work while chemical weed sprays can substitute for tillage.

A C W Meet Miniota Congregational Picnic at Hoopers Lake on June 8 drew about 60 attendees with races swimming a ball game and picnic supper. The June 16 meeting at Mrs Pilling Virden had 10 members present and planned a Family Life Party for next fall. Layette articles were pledged, Mrs Argue gave a report from the Deanery meeting Strathclair, and funds totaling 120 were paid with extra donations of 10 sent to the Madeline Norris Fund and the Contingency Fund. Golden Age Group Holds Meeting at Miniota Lawn Party
On June 14 a Miniota lawn party on the Barretts grounds brought together 45 Golden Age members from Park Residence Hamiota Pioneer Lodge Birtle and Isabella. Birthday gifts came from Mystery Friends for several attendees. A Manitoba Towns contest crowned Mrs Martin and Mrs Henderson as winners. Mr Cook provided accordion entertainment and a lunch followed. next gathering set for Crandall on July 16.
