Rural Council Passes Road and Utility Resolutions
The rural council met with Reeve presiding and passed resolutions including charging telephone rentals to general expense for C N.R. stations in Quadra Miniata Uno and Municipal hall. They approved purchasing a truck from Kane Co to resale to Wm Curtain at $100 per workshop month until paid. They set $100 per hour for the municipal weed sprayer by Carnegie Bros Beulah. They approved highway estimates Virden to Birtle and planned construction with municipal readiness and DPW approval. They agreed to pay J Wythe and R Steuart $40 per acre for additional road allowance through dates. and to pay T Gilchrist and J T McKenzie $30 per acre for additional road allowance. They recommended an overflow bridge in Sec 24-13-27 at 300 feet south of the new bridge, to be included in highway costs. By-law 1118 setting up a reserve fund for road building was read third time and passed. A Court of Revision of the 1950 Electors Roll and Assessment Roll is scheduled for Thursday July 27.
