A group of farm demonstrators rode a special Manitoba Agricultural College train from 9 to 12 this morning. The event featured demonstrations with horses and cattle led by Alyssis, Peters, and Crawford, drawing lively interest, especially among the ladies in the appointed section.
A visit to Hanson and Coombes chicken farm Sunday reveals an ambitious setup near the Assiniboine river south of Walter Ugyaut's farm. The firm hatches nearly one thousand eggs by incubator, keeps four hundred purebred chickens and two hundred other birds, with extensive coops and a two room cottage. Two Creeks beat Miniota in a lively match, then Wynona and Two Creeks fought for the cup, Wynona prevailing. Referee Wes Armstrong officiated. Evening entertainment in Miniota Hall featured Aspinwal's orchestra and dancing with a late start.
Messrs Silvernate and Kelson opened a photo craft shop in the old Conway building in Minosta offering portrait work. They advertise post cards mounted 5 by 4 bromide enlargements and other view work. Their local views include Cham and say the work is first class. They advertise motorcycle imagery in connection with the business and note out-of-town banks may take photographs.
Messrs A Wright and A J Leader visited Winnipeg last week. Miss Ella Maxfield of Two Creeks visits town. Charles Andrew appointed police magistrate for Transcona. Kenton team wins Capsdiy picnic game 6 to 2 against Arrowton. Arrowton defeats Crandell 5 to 3. Real estate agent Clinton has a memorable country trip incident with a Pigeon and a slipping yoke. Court of Revision held at Hamilton. Two Creeks Presbyterian Sunday School picnic on June 28 at Struthers farm. W A of Healy Trinity Church thanks supporters for the picnic. Alderman Thory Koester visits Miniota and praises town. Tennis and upcoming sports on July 1 with new grounds and prizes. Farmers seek a shower of rain though no crop damage yet.
A fire broke out on John Heddon's property east of the Manitoba Lumber Yard. Neighbors alerted the fire brigade whose prompt response limited damage but heavy wind and a large start allowed the blaze to threaten the Manitoba Hardware and Lumber Co. yard. Residents praise the brigade and citizen effort as the blaze burned through the night with limited salvage possible.
