Miss Ethel Rollo had appendix operation in Brandon hospital last Tuesday and recovers. A wiring short sparked a fire in the Tom Edmundson car at Miniota on Saturday. water buckets quickly quenched the blaze.

Fatal Plane Crash at Beulah Involving RC A F Mustang
A RC A F Mustang fighter piloted by Flt Lt Stanley Melvin Knight crashed during a routine training flight near Hoopers Lake Beulah. The aircraft exploded mid air and the pilot’s mangled remains were recovered. Knight served in the 417 Fighter Squadron Rivers and earlier with the 400 bomb group, and he died in Brandon with funeral rites in Calgary after the accident drew hundreds to the scene.
