George Andrews Banff caught a 32 pound lake trout at Lake Minnewanka during the season opening. Banff Springs Hotel guests also fared well with smaller catches as April proved strong for new settlements under the Canada Colonization Association.
Congratulations flow to Miss F Marion Henderson for successful studies at Whitby Ladies College. Miss Henderson graduates today on Wednesday with recognized achievement in her coursework and future prospects.
The Herald will be published Monday night next week instead of the usual day. No advertisement copy will be accepted after Monday noon to accommodate the schedule shift.
Heavy rain Thursday prevented the W. 1. from staging the Rivers troupe play. One carload arrived after a muddy trip while the second car failed to start. The performance will be rescheduled soon.
It will soon be time for the annual Memorial service to be held and a meeting should be called to arrange details. The service requires ample lead time to determine who is involved and what is needed before August.
Public meetings will discuss the money by law proposed by the Minnesota Municipal School Board. Arrow River hosts on Wednesday June 13, Wynona on Thursday June 14, Miniota on Friday June 15. Meetings start at 8 p m with ratepayers invited to learn the facts.
