A special Municipal Council meeting in Minota Manitoba on June 1 1959 with Reeve H S Hyndman presiding approved second reading of By Law 1359 for Inter City Gas Limited and village franchise terms. John Thompson offered to purchase SW 21-13-27 W1 for 100 dollars and a delegate trip to University Short Course June 15–19 at Winnipeg was approved with 50 dollars per person. The council also approved road work assistance using Ben Marshall with TD182 scraper at government rates.

High School Tournament Concludes With Upsets
Crandall defeated Hamiota to reach the final while Strathclair captured the girls softball cup. The boys semi finals saw Cardale fall to Crandall and Crandall beat Strathclair in the final, with Strathclair also earning the right to host the 1960 tournament.
