A pleasant evening at Mrs. W. BK. Warren's home drew about 40 attendees for an ice cream social on Friday. Despite the chill, guests enjoyed treats from the Ladies' Aid, plus singing and music before the event ended around 11 30.
The June County Court sittings here showed a light docket with no major matters. Four cases were heard: Proctor v Watts ended non suited for $80 terms. Imperial Elevator v Campbell sought $40.75 plus costs. Hepburn v Cusack claimed $70.85 and was dismissed. Garnishee action by King v N Mackenzie noted with Judge Cumberland presiding and Judge Mickle reassigned to the Northern Judicial District.
The Winnipeg Industrial Exhibition runs July 10 to 17 and features one of the largest electrical displays in a single space. Produced jointly by Winnipeg Electric Railway Company and Winnipeg City Electrical Commission, the exhibit shows electricity uses and marks the nearing completion of the Great Development plant at Point Du Bois. Spectacular night light shows will add a unique feature to the event.
Birth announcements list a daughter born Monday May 31 1909 to Mr and Mrs Sias Bryant and another birth to Mr and Mrs Dene Surta DeClare on Saturday June 9. Both notices appear in the local column of births.
