Greater Interest in Teaching Agriculture in Canadian Schools
The Annual Survey of Education in Canada 1936 notes governments fund extensive agricultural education outside regular schools. Short courses for prospectors attract about 5,000 men yearly, while farm families participate in longer courses. Canada has few dedicated agricultural high schools, yet many provinces embed agri classes in secondary schools. Residential agricultural schools are rare here, totaling about 800 enrolled across Canada including college diploma programs and five boarding schools.
